Magick Morning and Night

Often we wake up with tons to do and not a lot of time to do it. If you’re like me, you probably wake up with less than an hour to get dressed, eat breakfast, and get out the door. Take my friend LadyUnlaced’s advice, and try waking up a bit earlier, and starting your day with light yoga stretches. Yoga is a great way to relax your mind, increase flexibility, and improve posture, as well as a dozen other benefits to your body. In short- do yoga. It’s good for you, both physically and psychologically. And while you’re at it, recite a morning blessing to start of your day with a little bit of magick, such as this one:

“Gracious Goddess and Great God
I rise to greet you as I meet the sun
Guide me along my chosen path
Keep me focused until the day is done
In your arms, I ask you
To hold me close and safe from harm
Gracious Goddess and Great God
I offer you thanks for this day
Aid me to trust my heart, and strengthen my soul
As I follow these Old Ways
Merry meet and merry part
Lighten my step
And brighten my heart”

At night, try some light cardio or strengthening exercises. I usually do leg lifts or weights, because my work and class time doesn’t stop till 6, so if I want to work out, I have to do it at night. Here’s a simple Tripe Goddess bedtime blessing from Dorothy Morrison’s Everyday Magic to help you get a restful nights sleep:

“As I lay snuggled in my bed,
Pillow tucked beneath my head,
Maiden, bring my joyful dreams.
Mother, bring me peace, serene.
Wisest Crone, watch over me.
Until the light of dawn, I see.
And let me wake up safe and sound
Each day that to this Earth, I’m bound.”
